Swooping Lookout
White has always paid a small tax for a one-drop flyer with vigilance: Suntail Hawk gave you the evasive body and nothing else, and later riffs layered on a keyword at the cost of a color pip or a point of stats. What sets this one apart is the type line: it is an artifact, and everything else follows from that. Vigilance is the load-bearing detail. It attacks for its point of damage and stays back untapped, so the body keeps feeding whatever the deck is built around (a sacrifice outlet, a Vehicle to crew, or one of the many effects that just want an artifact sitting under them) without ever taking a turn off from applying pressure. The flying keeps it relevant on offense when a board stalls; the artifact type keeps it relevant to the machinery around it long after a 1/2 stops mattering on its own. This is a synergy piece dressed as curve filler, built for a deck that cares less about the single power it puts in the air and more about the permanent type parked underneath.
