Suture Spirit

Creature — Spirit1 generic manaWhite mana

The hybrid activation cost is the quirk that makes this Spirit worth a sentence, but the casting cost is the constraint that frames it: a card with 1 generic manaWhite mana in its mana cost wants white mana to ever hit the battlefield, so this is a white creature first, whatever the regeneration symbols suggest. Once it is down, though, the activated shield asks only for three mana in any mix of white and black, which means a deck splashing black off its white base can power the ability without owning a single black source, and a heavier black-white build can pay for it out of either half. The regeneration target is open, so the 1/1 can guard a larger threat through a board wipe or simply refuse to die itself, converting a steady three mana into a creature that keeps walking back from destruction. It is a defensive engine priced in patience: hold mana up, and something on your side stops staying dead. The flying body is almost incidental, a small evasive frame bolted to an activated ability that does the real work; the design's interest lives entirely in that hybrid cost, which lets the regeneration tax bend toward whichever color your manabase already leans on after you have paid the white to cast it.
