Surveilling Sprite

Creature — Faerie Rogue1 generic manaBlue mana

The clean execution of an old idea: a flying body that turns its own death into a card, so trading it away or chump-blocking with it never feels like a loss. Evasion plus a death-draw is a deliberately self-replacing package, and the point is that a one-toughness flier is supposed to die. You are not paying a premium for the cantrip; you are accepting that the creature dies for it, which is exactly what you want this body to do. The lineage here runs through every cheap blue evasive threat designed to chip in damage early and replace itself later, the kind of creature that fuels a tempo curve without leaving a hole when it dies. The faerie-rogue typing situates it in tribal builds that care about both lines, but the design works in the abstract: it is a low-commitment threat whose downside is pre-paid. The optional "may draw" clause matters more than it looks, since it keeps the trigger live in the rare spot where decking yourself is the real concern. Nothing about the card is flashy, and that is the discipline of it: a two-mana attrition piece priced so the attrition is free.
