A wrath that ignores your mana entirely, paid instead in white cards exiled from hand, rewrites the usual tell that comes with sweepers. The seven-mana line exists mostly as a release valve; the deck built to run this almost never pays it. Instead a tapped-out player, hand clogged and the board lethal next turn, resets everything without ever needing lands untapped. That collapses the standard sweeper signal, where you hold seven open mana and telegraph the reset a full turn early. Here the lands are irrelevant, so your board state betrays nothing about what is coming. The cost is genuine: exiled cards are gone, not discarded, so the trade only profits when the creatures it clears outweigh the two whites spent. It also disciplines construction tightly, since lands and off-color spells are dead as ammunition; the deck has to be white-dense enough that pitching two whites is a price it can routinely afford. This is the pitch-spell bargain in its purest sweeper form: surrender raw mana efficiency for the freedom to cast it while tapped out regardless of how your draws fell, asking you to treat white cards in hand as fuel rather than as plays. The strategic axis it shifts is timing, not power level: the effect is the same wrath everyone else casts, but it arrives unannounced and unbound from the land count.
