Sunlit Hoplite
Split first strike is a quieter design tool than the full keyword, and this two-drop leans on it hard. First strike only during your turn means the Hoplite hits above its weight on the swing (a 2/1 that trades up when attacking) while offering nothing on defense, where an untapped blocker without first strike is much easier for an opponent to plan around. That asymmetry defines the card: it is a low-cost white aggressor that wants to be pushing damage, not sitting back. The second line ties it to a planeswalker subtype rather than a single card, so the +1/+0 is a lord-style reward for a deck already committed to running an Elspeth. When that condition is met, the split first strike matters more, because a 3/1 first striker on offense punishes chump blocks and midrange bodies alike. The build is honest about what it asks for: it is a good body only when the deck is aggressive enough to keep attacking and dedicated enough to warrant the planeswalker anchor. Outside of that, it is a serviceable two-power beater with an ability that goes blank on the turns you most want to hold the fort.
