Sulam Djinn

Creature — Djinn5 generic manaGreen mana

The trick lives in the size check: a 6/6 trampler that pays a -2/-2 tax the moment green claims, or even shares, the lead in the color count across all permanents on the battlefield. That makes it a green creature that resents company. The math turns hostile in the obvious home: a heavy-green board tends to push green to the top of the count by itself, so the djinn that was supposed to crash in as a 6/6 sits at 4/4 most of the time, taxed by its own pilot's commitment to the color it shares. It rewards the splash rather than the all-in: keep green a minority of your colored permanents and let the opponent's board dilute the count further, and the body holds its full dimensions. The condition reads permanents, not the cards in your hand or graveyard, and it reads color, which means colorless permanents (lands among them) do not vote at all: only the green, white, blue, black, and red objects on the table tilt the balance. So the size recalculates as creatures, enchantments, colored artifacts, and tokens enter and leave, a finisher whose stature depends less on what you cast than on the color arithmetic of the whole table. The inverted payoff marks it as an early-era curiosity built to punish you for matching its own color rather than rewarding the pile-on the rest of the game taught you to want.
