Sudden Reclamation

Instant3 generic manaGreen mana

Instant speed is what earns this a slot over the dozens of green graveyard-recursion sorceries that came before it. Recurring a creature and a land is unremarkable on its own; doing it at the end of an opponent's turn, holding up the threat that you have something else to do with your mana, is the line that justifies the rate. The mill four is not a downside but a feeder: it fills the bin with the very cards the back half hands back, so the spell often digs to the creature or land you most want to return and then returns it in the same breath. That makes it less a recursion spell than a self-fueling refill, the kind of thing you cast on turns where you have nothing else worth doing and walk away with a fresh creature, a fresh land drop, and a slightly stocked graveyard for whatever delve or escape or reanimation payoff you are building toward. The design tension lives in the symmetry of the two returns: it does not let you grab two creatures or two lands, so the value is fixed at exactly one of each. That fixed split ties it to decks that actually want both halves, a narrower set than the flexible-looking text implies, and it stops the card from spiraling into a pure card-advantage engine.
