Suburban Sanctuary
The tapped dual with a late-game mana sink is a lineage that runs back to the creature-lands and cycling lands of earlier eras, and this one plants itself firmly in the cheap-and-slow half of that family. It fixes two colors and asks nothing of your library or life total to do it; the only cost is the tapped-land tempo hit every player has learned to absorb by paying it on a turn where a land drop was the plan anyway. The surveil ability is the honest part of the design: at four mana plus the tap, it is priced deliberately high, a flood insurance policy rather than something you sequence your turns around. That gap matters. A land that filtered your draws cheaply would warp deckbuilding; a land that filters them only when you have mana to spare stays a fixing land first and a luxury second. Surveil, unlike a raw scry, feeds the graveyard, so the ability quietly does double work in any shell that cares about cards below the top of the library, turning otherwise-dead late-game floods into graveyard fuel. What it represents is the modern template for a tapped dual: color access as the baseline expectation, with a small optional payoff bolted on to justify the slot over a basic. The activation cost is what keeps it a land and not a spell.
