Stormcloud Djinn
The pitch is a blue beater that grows on red mana, and the design only makes sense as a tax on monochrome decks: it hands blue a self-pump button but routes the fuel through the enemy color, so the payoff is locked behind committing to Izzet rather than mono-blue tempo. The body flies and can block only fliers, which keeps it pointed forward as an attacker rather than a wall; this is a creature that wants to race, not hold ground. The off-color activation is its singularity. Blue almost never gets a creature that pumps its own power, and each activation here costs you a life, so the firepower is gated by a price you pay against your own clock as much as the opponent's. Turn it into a finisher and the self-damage stacks fast: a tall attacker that adds two power per red investment is also a wager that you win the race before the life payments catch up with you. The 3/3 evasive frame is fine on rate, but the identity lives entirely in that red button. This is enemy-color glue more than a standalone threat, a flier that asks you to honor its second color before it does anything beyond connect for three in the air.
