Stoneshaker Shaman

Creature — Human Shaman2 generic manaRed mana

A 1/1 that does nothing in combat and asks nothing on cast, then hangs a recurring tax over every land on the table. The mechanism is symmetrical, which is both the trap and the point: every player sacrifices an untapped land at the end of their own turn, so the body sets a resource clock that ticks down on its controller too. The untapped clause is where the design earns its keep. A player who taps out fully on their turn loses nothing; the tax bites only the player holding mana open, which is precisely the sandbagging-behind-instants behavior an aggressive deck wants to punish. The natural home is hyper-aggressive red, the deck that has already emptied its hand and spent its mana while the control opponent leans on lands it suddenly cannot keep open. As a flavor of land denial, this is the attritional one rather than the brutal one: it does not blow a single player out the way a one-shot Stone Rain does, it grinds both sides toward topdeck mode and rewards whoever runs lighter on lands and faster on threats. The games it shapes are races to empty your hand before the resource floor gives way under everyone at once. The 1/1 is honest about all this; the creature is just the chassis carrying a board-wide effect that stops the moment the fragile body dies.
