Stern Judge

Creature — Human Cleric2 generic manaWhite mana

Hate flowers in white where it shouldn't quite belong: a Cleric whose tap ability punishes Swamps, slotted into an era built around the graveyard and black's dominance. The clean read is symmetry, but the design intent is asymmetry by deckbuilding: a white shell running few or no Swamps takes little while a black-heavy opponent bleeds for every Swamp they leave on the board. The drain scales with the most-committed black mana base, which is exactly the deck this was meant to tax, so the more the opponent leans on Swamps the worse the clock gets. The cost is paid in the body and the timing: a 2/2 with a tap ability is fragile and slow, easy prey for the removal a black deck plays freely, and the life loss arrives one point per Swamp per turn rather than in a burst. That ceiling caps it short of a true wincon; it works as a grind tool that asks the opponent to either kill a small creature or watch their own land count turn against them. The flavor lands cleanly: a judge who bends the swamp's corruption back on those who dwell in it.
