Steelform Sliver
Among the static Sliver lords that hand the swarm a single shared boon, this is the defensive one: it adds toughness rather than power or evasion. The toughness anthem is the least glamorous of the lord effects (the power-boosters and the keyword-granters do the actual closing), but it changes what the board survives. A team of fragile small bodies all becomes a notch harder to kill, which blanks the cheap pings and one-toughness sweepers that would otherwise unravel a wide Sliver board with a single card. Because the card is itself a Sliver, the buff is never dead on an empty board: it walks in as a 2/3, a body that already shrugs off the damage-based removal aimed at two-toughness creatures. The anthem also runs in only one direction, lifting the Slivers you control rather than every Sliver on the table, so an opposing swarm gets no help from your boost. That asymmetry distinguishes it from older designs that pumped both sides of the table regardless of controller. It earns its place in grinding matchups, where it stacks with the rest of the anthem package and turns a pile of small bodies into a board resilient enough to absorb removal and keep attacking.
