Squeaking Pie Grubfellows

Creature — Goblin Shaman3 generic manaBlack mana

Kinship asked you to gamble on your library's next draw and paid you off for stacking a single creature type, and this Goblin Shaman wagers that upkeep peek on stripping a card from every opponent's hand. The deeper your Goblin count, the more often the reveal matches and each player across the table tosses a card; on a miss, the upkeep simply passes. That conditionality is the cost of the engine. A 3/2 body does nothing to advance the board, so the card lives or dies by how committed the deck is to its tribe. What makes the disruption notable is that it recurs for free: a hardcast discard spell taxes you each cast, while this one charges its mana once and then leans on the draw step, turning a one-shot effect into a per-turn drain that punishes opponents for hoarding. The Kinship check matters more than it first reads, too: it asks whether the revealed card shares a creature type, not whether it is a creature, so a noncreature Tribal card carrying the Goblin type still hits. The design occupies a corner the game rarely visits, the black-Goblin overlap, where most of the tribe is red and aggressive. This one trades the swarm's haste and reach for attrition, built to make a focused tribal shell feel like a grind engine rather than a beatdown.

Kinship — At the beginning of your upkeep, you may look at the top card of your library. If it shares a creature type with this creature, you may reveal it. If you do, each opponent discards a card.
