Sporoloth Ancient
The Saproling engine, decentralized. Where a standard Thallid banks its own counters and spends three of them for a single token, this rewrites the economy in two ways at once: it stockpiles a spore counter on its own body each upkeep, and it grants every creature you control a cheaper conversion, two counters per token instead of three. The granted ability reads "Remove two spore counters from this creature," so each creature spends counters off its own body, not Sporoloth Ancient's; the gift is the discounted rate and the activated ability, not a shared pool. In practice this means the discount lands where counters actually live, which is on your other Fungi. A Thallid that would have needed three upkeeps to bank a token now needs two, and Sporoloth Ancient itself, accumulating a counter per turn, spins out its first Saproling after exactly two upkeeps and one more roughly every two thereafter. The 4/4 for five is filler on its own. The point is the centralized buff: it tightens the entire fungus economy by one counter across the board, compounding the wider your field of Fungi gets. The design typically produces nothing the turn it lands and a thickening stream a few turns later, which is the deferred, accumulating tempo the spore mechanic was built to reward.
