Split the Spoils

Fact or Fiction, rebuilt for the graveyard, with the roles reversed. The classic pile-split hands your opponent the cards and lets you choose; this reverses the assignment, giving you the knife and them the pick, which quietly changes what the whole exercise is about. This is not a gamble on unknown cards drawn blind: you know exactly what sits in your graveyard, so you assemble both piles with full information and the opponent chooses between two known quantities. The tension moves from "what will I reveal" to "how do I split these so both halves hurt to give up." That is a genuinely different puzzle, and it rewards graveyards deep enough that the losing pile still leaves something worth digging back out. Green rarely gets card selection this precise, and it earns the effect by drawing from cards already spent rather than from the library, keeping the color's traditional card-advantage lane intact while borrowing a mechanic that historically lived in blue. The exile in the text is only a staging zone: the permanents leave the graveyard while you sort them, then the chosen pile goes to hand and the unchosen pile returns to the graveyard, still recoverable on a later turn. Nothing is lost for good. The real cost is the choice itself, because a good split forces the opponent to hand you value no matter which pile they name, and a lazy split lets them starve you of exactly what you needed.
