Spellweaver Volute
An Aura that enchants a card in a graveyard, not a permanent on the battlefield, and that alone marks it as one of the era's deliberate corner-case experiments: equipment for the dead, latching onto a spent instant rather than a living creature. The engine runs on a two-spell rhythm. You cast a sorcery, the Volute copies the instant it sits on, and you may cast that copy for free; do so, and the original instant is exiled while the Aura crawls to another instant card in some graveyard to wait for your next sorcery. The asymmetry is the whole machine: sorceries are the fuel, instants are the payload, and the deck has to supply both halves while keeping the graveyard stocked with targets worth copying. The timing is sharper than the rate suggests. The copy is generated by a cast trigger off the sorcery, so it goes on the stack above the spell that made it and resolves first, before the sorcery does; the instant payload always lands ahead of its own fuel. The relocation clause is what keeps this from being a permanent free-spell faucet: every trigger spends one instant card and forces the Aura to find a fresh host, so the loop decays unless you keep feeding it. This is a build-around for players who want a recursive spell engine without a creature in sight, prizing the elegance of the interlocking parts over raw efficiency.
