Seven mana buys a 6/8 that stalls the ground on arrival, but the body is the least of what the card is doing. The recursion clause is the load-bearing part: at your end step it pulls back a single Eldrazi creature card from the graveyard, so a removed Kozilek or a chump-blocked threat is never gone for good, just deferred a turn. The two Scion tokens per end step are the second gear, and they read as fodder until you notice what they actually do: each one is stored colorless mana, so the card is quietly assembling the mana needed to recast whatever it just handed back to you. That pairing is deliberate. Return the expensive thing to hand on one axis, manufacture the mana to pay for it on the other, and the loop closes on itself without asking for outside support. Both halves touch the board at once: the 6/8 lands the moment the spell resolves, and the first pair of Scions is on the table before the opponent's turn, widening the ground defense while it primes the mana. The trigger cadence is the only brake here (everything happens at your end step, one recursion at a time), which is the correct speed for a deck whose whole identity is surviving to untap with eight-plus mana. This is a value piece built to keep a top-heavy colorless pile from ever running out of gas.
