Sparkhunter Masticore
A hate bear built for exactly one target. Protection from planeswalkers means it cannot be Oust-ed by a Teferi tick or wrath-slapped by planeswalker damage, and the repeatable : deal 1 damage clause lets it pick a walker apart a loyalty point at a time regardless of whether the controller ever moves to combat. The indestructible activation folds in survival against sweepers on the same body. What pays for all this is the discard-a-card additional cost, which is the whole tension: a sideboard-style piece that is only worth a card in hand when the opposing deck actually leans on planeswalkers, and pure downside when it does not. That conditionality is why the design could afford a 3/4 body and a stack of relevant abilities at three mana without warping anything. The Masticore line has always paired strong stats with an ongoing tax to keep them in check: the original Masticore demanded a discard every upkeep, Molten-Tail Masticore a life payment to recur. Here the tax is front-loaded into the cast rather than recurring, and it is pointed at a specific archetype rather than at the game generally. The result is a scalpel: quiet in matchups without a superfriends plan, brutal against them.
