Soulquake

A board wipe that refuses to commit to destruction. Where a sweeper sends creatures to the graveyard, this one launders the entire battlefield back into hands, then drags every dead creature card up alongside the living. The structural quirk lies in its indifference to ownership and origin: a graveyard full of fatties you have been pitching, a board your opponent spent five turns assembling, all of it resets to the same starting line. That symmetry is both the trap and the appeal. The catch is timing. At seven mana and sorcery speed, the caster taps out to cast it, which hands the opponent the first untap and the first chance to redeploy a refilled hand. So this is not a tempo card, and it does not buy a clean swing back. It works for a player who has already broken the symmetry before it resolves: recursion engines that turn the returned cards into fuel, payloads cheaper to recast than what they wipe, or a combo line that wants every creature card returned to hand at once as a setup step. The double-pip demand in both colors is the price of that flexibility; it asks for a committed Dimir manabase rather than a splash. As a reset button it is almost too thorough, which is why it never settled into the role of a clean answer. It is closer to a rewind that puts the game back to a position you have already prepared to exploit.
