Investigate scaling with the size of the attack, not the size of the trigger, is the design idea here: one Clue per nontoken attacker turns a wide board into a wave of card draw the turn you commit to combat. Menace matters more than it looks in that math, because it demands at least two blockers to stop Sophina herself, helping the swing that generates the Clues actually connect; since the trigger resolves the moment attackers are declared, the whole team investigates regardless of what happens next. The token clause is the balancing pressure, ruling out cheap go-wide shells that would flood the board with 1/1s purely to farm Clues, and pushing the card toward decks whose creatures earn their keep on their own. Friends forever, meanwhile, carries its own restriction: it only pairs with the small pool of other Friends forever legends rather than with any Partner, which is how this kind of design opens commander-slot construction to combinations the older Partner keyword never sanctioned. The result is a Boros attack-trigger engine that wants a real board rather than a token swarm, and rewards the swing you were going to make anyway with a stack of deferred card advantage you cash in at your own pace.
