Attacking is the whole plan, and this one-drop exists to connect: every hit shaves a card off the opponent's library into exile, where the colorless deck's processors later cash it back into resources. The pump ability is what keeps it from stalling out. Most one-power attackers get chump-blocked into irrelevance once the board thickens, but the repeatable, mana-only +1/+1 lets it muscle past a single blocker or trade up, and each connection deposits another card in the exile pile for the processor package to spend. That is the tension baked into the design: on its own it is a 1/1 that wants to attack and grows when you have mana to spare, but inside the colorless aggro shell it was built for, it is the cheapest reliable source of exile fuel. Devoid does its work in the tribe's counting synergies rather than in the processor loop itself: it makes the card register as colorless to anything that cares, even though the processors do not care what color put the card there. The whole package rewards commitment. Strip away the supporting cards and you have a marginal beater whose growth costs more mana than it is worth; assemble the keyword chain around it and it becomes the on-curve enabler the archetype opens on, the first swing in a plan that turns combat damage into a fuel line.
