Slith Strider

The two triggers point in opposite directions, and that tension is the whole design. The Sliths were a growth-counter tribe, each a 1/1 that swelled the moment it connected, the rest of the cycle simply asking you to push damage through with an evasion keyword. This one hedges the bet differently: get blocked and you draw a card; get through and you grow. A defender facing it has no clean answer, because blocking hands you a card and letting it land hands you a permanent stat bump. That is the real cleverness, because a creature with no evasion of its own usually develops a tempo problem the moment the opponent stops trading: a wall in front of it stalls nothing if every block refills your hand. So the opponent's incentives invert. Where most attackers want to slip past blockers, this one wants the blockers to show up, because each declared block is a card and each unblocked swing is a counter. The body stays fragile until it connects, so the early game is all about threatening that first hit; once a counter or two lands, both clauses tighten the vise. The catch is that this is the worst Slith for pure snowballing, since the more evasion you grant it, the more you would rather a naturally unblockable Slith carry the counters. What this one rewards instead is the aggressive attack into a stalled board: it punishes the opponent for blocking and pays you for swinging into a defensive position they would rather hold.
