Slash the Ranks

A board wipe rewritten for a format where the caster has a commander to protect. Wrath of God levels the field but takes your own centerpiece down with it; this one carves out an exception for every commander at the table, which quietly changes what the sweeper is for. Instead of resetting everyone back to zero, it resets everyone back to their command zone's anchor, letting the game resume from the creatures the legend rules already treat as focal points. That makes it a different Wrath in a vacuum and a more interesting one in practice: the person who benefits most is whoever fielded the biggest, best-protected commander, and the carve-out turns a symmetrical effect lopsided the instant commanders differ in threat. The design leans hard on a specific table structure, so its identity is closely tied to the format that produced it. Note the exact mechanism, though: it says destroy, so anything with indestructible rides out the sweep too, commander or not, and the exception clause stacks on top of that baseline rather than overriding it. What it adds over a typical white sweeper of this shape is reach past the creature board: catching planeswalkers in the same breath widens the target to a slice of the game most symmetrical wraths leave standing.
