Raid is a mechanic that rewards aggression retroactively, and this is the plainest expression of that bargain: the flying body arrives whether or not you swung, but the card only refunds itself if you committed to combat first. That ordering matters. Because the trigger checks whether you attacked this turn, the reward is retrospective, not conditional on the moment of casting; you get the draw for aggression you already declared, which nudges the card toward the back half of a curve rather than a tempo blink. A 4/3 flyer at this cost is unremarkable on rate, and that is deliberate: the payoff lives in the raid clause, and the clause pays only the pilot who has structured a turn around attacking. Aggressive blue is a narrow historical corner (blue rarely wants to be tapped out and in the red zone), so a card that asks blue to have committed to combat before it even enters is doing quiet archetype-defining work, telling you what kind of blue deck it belongs to. Left in a controlling shell it is a mediocre evasive beater; slotted into a build that leads with the attack step, it becomes a body that draws its own replacement. The mechanic sorts the deck around it, which is more than the stat line suggests.
