Skycoach Waypoint
A colorless mana source that doubles as an activation engine for a bespoke keyword, which is the wrinkle worth pausing on: prepare is a mechanic tied to specific spells, and this land is one of the few permanents that can hand out the prepared state without being one of those spells itself. The tap-for-colorless mode is the tax you pay for that flexibility; the land generates only , so it slots into a deck that already wants the prepare payoff more than it wants smooth fixing. The second ability is where the design intent lives. For three generic and a tap, at any time you have priority (the ability carries no timing restriction, so it works at instant speed like most land abilities), it turns a creature with a prepare spell into a prepared one, converting stored resources into board development on a schedule you control rather than one dictated by drawing the right prepare spell. That makes it a redundancy piece for an archetype built around a narrow keyword: the deck that leans on prepare wants more ways to trigger it than the handful of spells that natively grant it, and a land that quietly refills that engine every turn is cheaper to include than another spell slot. It is infrastructure, not a payoff, and it reads as exactly that: a manabase inclusion whose real job is keeping a mechanical theme running when the dedicated cards run dry.
