Symmetrical card draw rarely rides a small white flier, and the tension of a shared gift drives the whole design. Pay four mana and both players draw one apiece: nobody pulls ahead on the count, so the reward lives in context, in a shell that converts a fresh card into pressure quicker than the opponent can capitalize, in an opponent already flooded and unable to profit, or in a grindy endgame where surplus mana wants a sink and library depth is the only one on offer. Lifelink does quiet work the tiny evasive body never advertises: because the activation costs mana instead of life, the engine never bleeds you toward a race you cannot win, and the steady trickle of life buys the extra turns a shared draw needs to break your way. The flying 1/1 is a decoy. Most white two-drops with evasion chip in early and then go inert; this one keeps mattering deep into a game where the opponent stopped tracking it long ago. The shared card is the leash. You need a real plan for wanting both players to draw before repeatedly tapping four mana starts paying you back, and that leash is what stops a would-be free value engine from being free.
