Skulking Ghost

Creature — Spirit1 generic manaBlack mana

A 2/1 flier for two mana would be an aggressive evasive body anywhere, and the design caps that rate with a self-destruct clause: point any spell or ability at it, even your own, and it dies before the effect resolves. The discipline is unusual because it doesn't merely make removal cheaper against the creature; it makes targeting itself lethal. A combat trick, a pump spell, an aura, anything that needs to name the Spirit as a target sacrifices it instead. That cuts both ways. The opponent can kill it with the cheapest targeted effect in their deck rather than spending real removal, but they can't bounce it for tempo, steal it, or tap it down without simply trading it away, and any blue or red answer that wants to interact is overpaying for a one-toughness creature that a chump block already handles. The creature exists to attack and nothing else: no enchantments to build it into a threat, no combat tricks to push damage through, no protection to be granted. It is a clean, brittle clock, the kind of fragile evasive body that early black aggressive shells leaned on before the color had deeper aggressive tools. The targeting clause is the whole identity, a deliberate trade of flexibility for a rate the era rarely handed two-drop fliers.
