Exploit and the death payoff usually live on separate cards: one creature eats a body for value, another collects counters when things die around it. Folding both onto the same 2/3 flier is the wrinkle. The exploit trigger can feed the creature's own death trigger, so it grows the moment it lands, and the haste rider tells you what the design wants from that opening sacrifice: if the creature it exploited is the same one whose death lands the counter, it gets haste and can swing immediately as a bigger threat. After that first swing, it settles into passive accumulation, taking a +1/+1 counter whenever another creature you control dies, and it does not care how. A board wipe, a Doom Blade on your own body, a chump block, an aristocrats sacrifice: every one of your creatures hitting the graveyard from the battlefield feeds it a counter, which makes it a beneficiary of the same removal that punishes the rest of your board. The one boundary is that bounce and exile earn nothing, since a creature that leaves without dying never triggers it. Note what it does not bring: exploit is the outlet, but the creature it wants sacrificed has to come from elsewhere, so this asks to be built around a board that trades, sacrifices, and dies freely. Haste is a one-time reward for the opening play; the counters keep stacking every time a body of yours goes down, turning attrition into a steadily larger evasive clock.
