Shu Elite Companions
Horsemanship is what evasion looked like before flying became the universal sky-keyword: an ability defined entirely by its own scarcity. Because horsemanship appears almost exclusively in the Portal Three Kingdoms corner of the game, a creature carrying it is, in practice, unblockable against any deck not built from the same small pool. There is no flexible answer, no fliers to chump, no reach to catch it: the keyword polices itself, and the population of creatures that share it is tiny. That is the entire pitch for this 3/3, whose body is otherwise unremarkable at its cost. The five-mana price tag is the tax for a guaranteed three damage a turn in nearly any board state, a deliberately dull rate attached to a deliberately one-sided keyword. As a piece of mechanical history it sits inside a closed ecosystem: a white midrange soldier that exists to demonstrate horsemanship's design logic, namely that an evasion keyword is only as strong as the defenses arrayed against it, and against the wider card pool there are effectively none.
