Shipwreck Sifters

Loot effects come with a built-in tax: you draw, you discard, and the body attached to the ability is usually an afterthought. What this Spirit does is convert the discard half of that transaction into a growth clock. The looting itself is the same filtering dozens of two-mana blue creatures offer, but pitching the right card here is not a cost, it is a trigger. A Spirit or a card with disturb thrown to the graveyard grows the body, and because disturb cards actively want to be in the yard (they cast a second time from there), the discard you would normally begrudge becomes a play you seek out. That alignment is the point: a transaction that ordinarily bleeds tempo (loot away your value) gets rewired so the discard feeds two engines at once, fattening the attacker while stocking the disturb pile for later. It rewards a graveyard-forward deck without asking you to spend a turn setting up, since the loot fires the moment it lands and every subsequent discard through other outlets keeps the counters coming. The 1/2 body sets expectations correctly: this is a value creature that wants to be built around, not a threat you jam into any blue shell. Feed it the right cards and it stops being a filterer and starts being a beater that filtered its way into relevance.
