Shinra Reinforcements
A body that fills its own graveyard the moment it lands, plus a life buffer, is the kind of do-two-things-at-once common that black self-mill decks are built on. The mill-three-and-gain-three package staples an enabler to a 2/3, so the creature that stocks the yard for your reanimation and threshold payoffs is also a warm body that can block a 2/2 all day and take a chunk out of anything bigger before it dies. The life gain is what keeps the mill from reading as pure cost: three life offsets the tempo of spending a whole card on graveyard-stuffing when you are the one under pressure. Nothing here is elaborate, but the shape is deliberate. Self-mill has always wanted its enablers attached to permanents rather than left as pure spells, because a spell that only fills the yard is dead weight when you draw it late. This one is never dead: it blocks, it chumps, and once it has done its job the body itself is fuel for whatever reanimation or aristocrat engine the graveyard was being built to support. Designed as connective tissue for a graveyard-centric black deck, it offers an early play that advances the plan without asking you to trade board presence for setup.
