Man-o'-War, slowed by a turn and a mana, but with a wrinkle the original never offered: the bounce is optional. Where Man-o'-War forced you to return a creature whether you liked it or not (a real liability when the only target was your own board), this one lets you decline. That single word, "may," turns a tempo trick into a clean utility body: hold the trigger when nothing is worth bouncing, or point it at your own creature on purpose to reuse an enters-the-battlefield effect or rebuy a blink target. The 2/2 is unremarkable, and four mana puts the rate well off the curve of efficient tempo plays. The interest is structural. Bounce-on-entry creatures live or die by whether the bounce is mandatory, because a forced effect can backfire and a blink-friendly one cannot. This is the friendlier half of that design fork: a Wizard you can reanimate, flicker, or recast without ever fearing the trigger working against you. The catch is that the bounce is stapled to a creature entering rather than a spell resolving, which normally means casting it on your own turn. But entry is the only requirement, so the trigger can fire on an opponent's turn whenever the Wizard is blinked in, reanimated, or otherwise put onto the battlefield at instant speed. What it offers in exchange for the sluggish hardcast rate is permanence: the tempo swing arrives on a body you can recur, a different axis of value than a one-shot spell can reach, and the reason the card reads as an engine piece rather than a spell with a creature taped to it.
