Sculptor of Winter
Green's mana dorks have almost always tapped for mana directly: Llanowar Elves, Elvish Mystic, the whole Fyndhorn line down to the root. This one takes a stranger route, untapping a land instead of producing anything itself, which makes it a multiplier rather than a source. Point it at a Snow-Covered land and you have effectively doubled that land's output for the turn, a flat extra mana (or extra utility activation) every turn it comes back online. But the ability is pinned to snow specifically, and specifically to snow lands: a deck stuffed with snow creatures but no snow lands leaves this Elf doing nothing at all. That subtype gate is the price of the acceleration. It turns what would otherwise be a generic two-mana accelerant into a card that only functions atop a manabase committed to snow, and it rewards untapping utility lands as readily as basics. The body is incidental to the function; the interesting part is that the extra mana comes from a land you already control rather than from a new source, so the ceiling rises not with how many lands you have but with how good the single land you untap each turn happens to be.
