Bounce a Forest, untap a creature, and do it again next turn: that mana-free loop is the reason a 1/1 Faerie still earns sleeves. The activation reads at first like a niche pump-spell enabler, but the recurring untap does several jobs at once: it grants pseudo-vigilance, re-taps an ability creature every turn, and lets a blocker attack and still hold the line. The Forest bounce that pays for it doubles as a way to replay landfall and untap-on-land triggers, so the cost feeds a second engine instead of just bleeding your board. Underneath is a flying body with flash, which means it ambushes at instant speed and dodges most ground combat math, plus protection from blue, a clause that matters once it is on the battlefield: it cannot be blocked by blue creatures, cannot be the target of blue removal, and shrugs off blue combat tricks. (It does nothing for the creature spell while it sits on the stack, so a blue counterspell still answers it before it lands; protection only ever describes the permanent, not the cast.) That protection is an artifact of an older color-pie line between green and blue, when green wanted creatures that survived contact with evasive blue threats. The once-per-turn untap is the real engine: a repeatable, mana-free untap on any creature scales with whatever you point it at, from mana dorks to attackers to abusive activated abilities. The rate is modest; the ceiling is not.
