Colorless creatures do not normally draw cards, and black card advantage does not normally live on an artifact you can tutor or recur without color concern. This horror welds those two things together. Its entry pays a life point to cantrip; the unearth activation, once its black cost is paid, drags the body back at sorcery speed with haste and fires that draw a second time before the card exiles itself out of the game. Two cards from one permanent, split across two turns, from a shell nobody deploys for combat. The artifact type line is what lifts this past disposable filler: the draw is a black effect, but for artifact tutors, sacrifice fodder, and colorless recursion loops the whole package registers as an artifact they already want to interact with. Blink and reanimation decks get a repeatable draw trigger stapled to something their other synergies happily touch. The 2/2 hardly matters as a threat; the point is a permanent that replaces itself when it arrives, replaces itself again when it returns, then clears off the board before it can gum up an attack step. Engines built from low-glamour pieces like this tend to grind on quietly, doing the same unglamorous card-advantage work long after the flashier draw spells have come and gone.
