Savage Thallid

A 5/2 for five mana that wants to swing, not stockpile. The Fungus class usually plays the long game: counters tick up, Saprolings trickle out, and the body stays back behind its hoard for many slow turns. This one inverts the priority, loading the stat line toward the attack and pairing it with toughness so thin that any blocker or burn spell answers it. It cannot even capitalize immediately, since without haste it must survive a turn cycle on two toughness before it can connect. That fragility is what the rest of the kit defends against. The three abilities form a closed loop with one bottleneck: a spore counter accrues each upkeep, three of them buy a Saproling, and a Saproling sacrificed regenerates a Fungus. The counters underwrite everything, so the real tension lives in the Saproling. Every self-made token spent to shrug off removal or trade up in combat represents three upkeeps of accrued counters, and is one fewer body that could have become a future regeneration shield. That makes each defensive activation a genuine expenditure rather than free insurance: protecting the 5/2 burns the same resource that grows the army around it. The result is a brittle attacker whose own toolkit exists to keep it standing, forcing a turn-by-turn choice between widening the board and saving the threat at its center.
