The joke is the modal choice, and the joke is load-bearing. This is a crossover parody build where a villain best known for a ring gets recast as a well-meaning cryptid enthusiast: one mode gains life under the deadpan header "Cure Cancer," the other stamps a saurian counter on a creature and rewrites it into a 5/5 green Dinosaur under "Turn People into Dinosaurs." Strip the comedy and the second mode is doing real structural work. It is a repeatable, both-trigger transformation (enter or attack) that can point at your own board or an opponent's, so it plays offense and defense from the same slot: flatten an oversized threat down to a plain 5/5 body with its stats overwritten, or upgrade a token or mana dork into something worth swinging with. Note the precise reach of the effect: it sets base power and toughness to 5/5 and changes the type to green Dinosaur, but it leaves the creature's abilities intact, so a keyword-laden monster keeps its keywords on a smaller frame while a vanilla token gains none. The counter is the anchor that makes the effect portable rather than locked to the moment it triggered: the new stats and type persist only while the saurian counter sits there, so stripping the counter reverts everything. The flying 4/4 frame keeps the trigger coming without extra investment to connect. What could have been a one-note gag is built as a legitimate green tempo-and-remodel engine wearing a punchline.
