Sarkhan Vol

The first Sarkhan walked onto the battlefield as a creature-deck planeswalker, and the three abilities map cleanly onto the three faces of an aggressive board state. The plus is an anthem-and-haste swing that turns a developed board lethal: every attacker hits harder and can attack the moment it lands, so on a wide board the planeswalker can demand its mana cost back in damage the same turn it arrives. The minus-two is Threaten as a tempo play: because loyalty abilities fire at sorcery speed in your main phase, you activate it before combat to drag a blocker off defense and turn it into one of your own attackers, swinging the math twice on the turn you commit. The ultimate is exactly what a red-green dragon obsessive should leave behind: five flying bodies that close on their own. The cohesion is the point. Many early planeswalkers spread their loyalty across unrelated effects, hedging on which deck they belonged to. Sarkhan Vol commits: the plus and minus both want creatures already on the table, they both feed the attack step, and the ultimate rewards a board that survived long enough to climb. This is a planeswalker built to finish a ground war already going your way, not a value engine that claws back from behind. The minus-two is the wrinkle that breaks the linearity, answering a single problematic blocker without ever stepping off the aggressive plan.
