Saproling Migration
The mana curve in token form. Two bodies for two mana is the floor most green token-makers have settled into, and that's the cast you make when the board needs pressure now. The kicker turns the same spell into a four-token payoff at six total, which is the whole pitch: one card that scales with the game rather than rotting in hand once the board is established. That flexibility is the design discipline at work here, because a flat two-mana "make two Saprolings" would be unplayable past the early turns and a flat six-mana "make four" would be too slow off the top. Splitting the cost lets a single slot do both jobs without ever going dead. The tokens themselves are deliberately generic: 1/1 green Saprolings, food for any sacrifice engine, fodder for any anthem, bodies for any go-wide finisher. Saprolings as a creature type carry a long fungal lineage in green, and this is the modern workhorse that feeds those decks, the reliable count of expendable green bodies you can produce on demand once the payoffs are in place.
