Salvage

SorceryGreen mana

Regrowth's poorer cousin, separated by a single design lever: where the older card returns a graveyard card to your hand, this one puts it on top of your library. You pay a turn of tempo, drawing the card next instead of holding it now. That deferral is the whole balance act. Sorcery-speed recursion at a single green mana is a generous rate, so the cost lives in timing rather than mana, and the card asks you to spend a draw step you would have spent anyway. The function it performs is the one green has always claimed: the color that does not forget what dies, recovering its threats and its answers from the yard rather than from the top of an undisturbed deck. The Portal line aimed this kind of effect at newer players, trading the flexibility of an instant or a hand-return for a clean, legible template that teaches what recursion is before it teaches when to use it. The result never warps a board state on the turn it resolves; its payoff is structural, a second life for the best card already in your bin, paid for by a beat of patience.
