Safewright Quest

SorceryGreen or White mana

Fetch a Forest or Plains card to hand, no ramp attached: that is the whole effect, and it would be unremarkable in any single color. What makes it travel is the cost. Priced at one pip that either green or white can pay, the card refuses to commit to an archetype until the deck around it does. A mono-green list reads it as "fetch a Forest." A mono-white list reads it as "fetch a Plains." A deck running both lets the lands in front of you decide which land matters. That is the quiet logic of hybrid pricing as fixing: rather than build a tutor that is only live in one shell, you let the casting cost choose the shell after deckbuilding is done. The search clause is more generous than it looks, too, reaching any nonbasic that carries the Forest or Plains type, dual lands included, so the search widens well beyond what a basic-only fetch would offer. The tradeoff is the familiar one for any land-to-hand search: it neither develops your board nor advances your mana on the spot, it only trades a card to smooth the next draw and guarantee a color you need. As a one-mana filter that almost any green or white deck can run without warping its colors, it asks little and pays it back in consistency.
