The discard rider gives this body a strange purpose: it points value forward, into the opponent's hand, on a clock you control rather than they do. A 2/4 trades into early aggression and stonewalls most ground attackers, but the interesting axis is what happens when it stops blocking. Chump it, sacrifice it, let it soak up removal: any death sends a card from the targeted player's grip to the graveyard, so the wall doubles as a delayed disruption spell with a stall attached. That reframes the combat math. An attacker has to weigh whether killing this thing is worth a card of value, and a blocker that punishes the act of trading with it asks an awkward question of decks built to grind efficiently. The discard is not disruption on your terms (the affected player chooses what to pitch, not you), so it reads as steady resource attrition rather than surgical hand-strip. The targeting is generous enough to name yourself, which matters for graveyard-fueled strategies that want a card in the bin. Note that the trigger keys on death specifically, not on leaving play, so bouncing or exiling it shuts the engine off entirely; the default read stays grindy, anchored to the battlefield-to-graveyard step. The whole design serves a game plan that wins by depleting resources rather than racing, where every creature death is meant to cost the opponent something, and a 2/4 that subtracts a card on the way out fits that arithmetic cleanly.
