Rites of Flourishing

Enchantment2 generic manaGreen mana

Symmetry is the entire bet here. Every player draws an extra card and lands an extra land, and the design wager is that you can convert that shared acceleration into an advantage faster than your opponents can. This is the Howling Mine school of card design (the open faucet that flows for everyone), but with a green twist: the extra land drop turns the bonus draws into actual board development rather than just a fatter hand. The card asks a real question of the table. Symmetric draw-and-ramp helps the deck best positioned to spend mana and cards, so the open-handed generosity is really a trap baited with your own game plan. In practice it rewards the controller of the engine, the player whose curve and payoffs are built to outpace the goodwill, and punishes anyone who takes the free cards without a plan to win before the parity catches up. The green color identity matters: of the colors, green is the one that most reliably converts surplus lands into surplus threats, so the asymmetry the card pretends not to have is loaded toward whoever cast it. It does nothing to protect itself and nothing to break the symmetry on its own, which is the honest cost of stapling two generous effects onto a single enchantment; the breaking is delegated to the threats and payoffs you bring to the table.
