Rishadan Airship
Every line on this card aims in the same direction: forward. A 3/1 for three with flying is a fast aerial clock, and the blocking clause makes sure that clock never doubles as a defense. It can intercept other flyers, but ground attackers walk past it untouched, so the natural fallback use of an evasive creature (sitting back to trade) is taken off the table. The body reinforces the bias: three power gets life totals moving quickly, and a single point of toughness means it dies to almost any retaliation, so it is built to swing while it still can rather than linger. This is blue offered an air raid without being handed a wall. The trade is explicit: surrender most of flying's defensive value and keep only the half that pressures the opponent, in exchange for power that hits above what the mana usually buys when it connects. There is nothing to weigh turn to turn, no offense-versus-defense decision left to the pilot; the design already made the call and tuned the rate to it. The card commits, and the commitment is the elegance.
