This one inverts the priorities: a toughness of three shrugs off the cheap pings that pick apart smaller attackers and lets the creature keep coming back to combat against a board of one- and two-drops rather than racing unblocked past them. There is no triggered ability, no death payoff, no build-around clause; the value sits entirely in a frame that survives where a 3/2 would have died. The Devil typing connects it to the loose tribe red was assembling in the early-era treatments of the creature type, where the reward came not from any single card but from flooding the board with disposable, sacrificeable bodies that fed a wider aristocrats-and-graveyard plan. Read honestly, the plainness is the point. It is the curve-filler that makes an aggressive red shell cohere without ever being the card that shell is built around: a workable rate on a durable body, asking nothing in return and offering nothing flashy.
