Resize
Recover is the mechanic that turns a one-shot pump spell into an attrition engine, and Resize is the rate at which that trade was offered: a +3/+3 instant that buys itself back the moment a creature of yours dies. The math is the whole point. Cast it as a trick, and you have spent two mana for the swing; let a blocker trade away, and the same two mana later (paid against the recover trigger) returns the card to hand for another round. The friction is that the trigger only fires on your own creature hitting the graveyard from the battlefield, so the loop wants a board that is constantly dying: chump attackers, sacrifice fodder, fragile early bodies trading up. That binds a green combat trick to a grindy, board-attriting plan rather than a pure tempo one, which is a strange and deliberate place to put a +3/+3. The downside clause is unusual for a trick, too: decline the payment and the spell is gone for good, so a deck running it accepts that its combat tricks vanish permanently if the recover engine sputters. The design asks a question most pump spells never do, which is whether you want to commit to spending mana twice on the same card across multiple turns, and prices the answer in dead creatures rather than in cardboard.
