Most Equipment enters the battlefield inert: a two-mana artifact that sits idle until you spend more to attach it, so its first turn is a tempo sink. The enter trigger here dodges that entirely, snapping the axe onto a waiting creature for free. That collapses the usual two-step tempo cost into one, turning what reads like a modest pump into an immediate two-mana boost that also leaves a re-usable permanent on the board. The conditional bonus is the tribal hook: a flat +1/+1 on anything, but +2/+1 when the wearer is a Warrior, which nudges it toward decks built on that creature type without stranding it as unplayable elsewhere. The equip cost is priced to let you shuffle the axe onto a fresh threat after a trade or a wrath, so the free initial attachment functions as a discount on the first use rather than the only use. The design is deliberately small: an always-relevant stat boost that rewards a specific archetype without warping any board it lands on. It asks for nothing clever and pays out reliably: pump now, keep the option to move it later.
