Redcap Heelslasher
A 2/3 for four that grows to a 3/4 first striker the moment it lands, or hands its counter and its keyword off to a bigger attacker: the choice when it enters is the whole play. The reason the counter always sticks, even to an empty board, is what makes the mechanic here so low-risk; the enters trigger doubles as a combat trick you never have to trade the body for. Point the +1/+1 and the granted first strike at something already threatening, and you rewrite a single combat step in your favor, letting a fatter creature deal its damage before it takes any. First strike is the sharp keyword to distribute for exactly that reason: it changes the math of one exchange rather than compounding across turns, so the flexible target stays live no matter how large the board grows. The catch is timing. None of this happens at instant speed, so the play is a proactive one you make on your own turn to set up an attack, not an answer to an incoming swing, and the granted keyword expires when the turn does. Small effect, modest rate, but the structure is clean: an aggressive body engineered so the only real decision is where the counter goes, and there is never a wrong answer.
