Reconstructed Thopter

Artifact Creature — Thopter3 generic mana

Unearth is a keyword built to make a body count twice, and this thopter is the mechanic in its most stripped-down form: pay the front cost for an evasive body that trades or chumps, then buy it back for a one-turn air-strike when the graveyard is where your resources live. The value is entirely in the sequencing. Cast now for a modest flier, let it die into the yard, then on a later turn when you have two mana and a window, slam it back with haste for a swing before it exiles at end step. The exile clause keeps the loop from becoming an engine: unearth grants a single second use, not a recursion machine, so the reactivation only pays off when timed around a moment that matters rather than ground out every turn. The sorcery-speed restriction on that return matters too; there is no ambush blocker here, no instant-speed surprise. This is a proactive tool for decks that want to convert dead creatures into two separate points of pressure, and the flying is what makes the second attack reliably connect. The design lineage runs back through the earlier unearth cards of the mechanic's first appearance, where cheap bodies with cheap buybacks gave aggressive artifact and reanimator-adjacent shells a way to keep applying damage after the board had already emptied once.
