A symmetric blue board-wipe for artifacts is a card that reads as a liability before it reads as an answer: it bounces your own artifacts alongside the opponent's, so it is too sweeping to fire off lightly and too situational to run on faith. The escape valve is cycling. When nobody at the table is leaning on artifacts, you pay two and trade the card for a fresh draw; when an artifact engine resolves and threatens to take over, the cantrip you were holding turns out to have been the sweeper all along. That conditional flexibility is what a pilot is actually paying for: not the effect, but the option to never cast it. Urza's Legacy used cycling to soften exactly this problem across a run of situational answers, letting reactive cards carry sweeping effects without the deckbuilding cost of drawing them at the wrong moment. This is the artifact-hate instance of that template, and the choice to bounce rather than destroy keeps it live against indestructible and recurring permanents that laugh off destruction. The symmetry is the price baked into that generosity: returning your own artifacts too makes it read less like clean removal and more like a reset button you decide when to press.
